I didn't know it was BBC owned, just assumed the Olympic Committee gave them priority because they were the official broadcaster (given how strict they've been about access and media rights)!
You'd still expect something similar for Channel 4 though.
That's a stupid statement. The studio was the property of the BBC and it didn't belong to anyone else. I hate to say it but there may have been accessiblilty issues with using them studios anyway.
