The new Panorama is awful. Louis Theroux would have done this investigation much better, his last show on "Americas most hated family" was brilliant.

On this weeks episdoe, the beeps and the end were removed from the mix, and you just heard the wooshy noises and a deep synth. Sounded nice, but im rather fonde of the beeps!

The user doesn't allow free speech, they screen the comments to only scientologists.

The scary thing is the amount of cameras they have, they made anti-licence fee references as well.

Interestingly, as has been pointed out elsewhere, the Panorama team found it acceptable to over-dub Mr. Sweeney's speech when confronting the Scientology spokesman at one point. Very misleading and unprofessional and harms their credibility somewhat.

What a load of rubbish...

The truth is that if you were an open, transparent, and trustworthy religion, you would

• not have a problem with people reporting about you and certainly not follow journalists around
  
• not mess with interviews and others' speech
  
• allow free speech on your Youtube videos.

As the Scientology guy walks away, one of the two is altered. This is a clear attempt to mislead viewers into what was said. The fact that it was in a single shot gives the impression of the event happening in real time, opposed to a clear cut in an interview or change of camera. If they want to investigate a cult for deception probably best not to do it themselves.

I don't think neither Panorama or Scientology came out of this too well. It's clear Panorama have dumbed down beyond belief and weren't exactly out to make the fair balanced report they claim they were. Plus John Sweeney wasn't the right man for the job - he looks like a bumbling idiot.

How could they make it any fairer under the circumstances? If the subject of the programme refuses to talk..... what more can they do?

Tonight's programme was absolute tosh. Do they understand any science? Hardly a fair view either.
