More probably. HD over triax has been happening since the late 90s when the US went HD. Most sporting venues were pre-wired with triax, but Sony wanted to run fibre only.

Will remain as TV studios in new deal

Not sure I follow. Most of the studios at TV Centre are less suited to film (and single camera electronic) production than most sound stages - as they have lighting grids, sound areas, vision areas, galleries etc.
