Edit:

I wish to ask if anyone can remember the name of a show, which was broadcast back in Late 1999/2000 OR late 2000/2001 on Sundays nights on BBC TWO.

This Comedy programmes took a some what bizarre view to television of the future. there were no presenters as such but from the outset it would would just be black screen with channel numbers which would randomly switch to, and then the cast created sketchs of some what bizarre tv channels,.

Can anyone remember the name of this show? I think it my have Hyper in its title?

Thank

Sorry, I came up with a few suggestions (TV Go Home, Glam Metal Detectives, Broken News) before realising the "future" bit doesn't quite fit with those.

"Broken News"
As someone who works "in the trade" it was pretty scary.
And very funny.

And with a bigger budget, and a more more competient script editor would have been very good indeed - as it was (and to take nothing away from John Mortons script) all the channels looked the same (and in the case of IBS News - the Fox News parody - the set was way off being over the top) and due to the low budget, he had to repeat and hammer the same idea into the ground.

He did however, go out with a bang with the wonderful 'missing airplane' episode, which those who saw it, can't watch the news channels in the early stages of an real aircraft breaking news story without thinking back to that episode and grinning...

..but I must stop - I don't feel well, I think I have a touch of Tomato Flu.

Right, this programme - was it the TV version of the short lived Radio Four spoof news show 'The Way It Is'?

I can just about remember watching it all the way through without laughing much if only to see who was responsible, and BBC Scotland turned up as the last name on the credit roll.

It does sound very similar to 'Time Trumpet' but that came a couple of years later.

This is one of my favourite parts from that show:

and the special effects of future Eastenders episodes:

• IT was looking at TV channel in the Future , see what Bizzar channels there where, I remember saying one of the sketch where this man inwas in a body suit and you could get all the feelings, as it was set to a porn channel then the wife come in and changed it to Wrestling channel
• It was set 50 odd years here in the future
• It was Broadcast on BBC two around 1999/2000
• There was no formal into to the show.
• No Signal! FX Uk show, it was like that in format but But has over the top, and as said before set many MANY year in time

Its NOT: Time Trumpet? "Broken News" OR the way it was.
