does Granada still own any cinama or bowling allys?
Does Carlton Screen Advertising count? Otherwise No.
I think Pearl & Dean have replaced them though, when I saw Casino Royale the other day at Romford Ster Century, sorry VUE cinema (another cr@p name) they had Pearl & Dean (with famous tune) instead of CSA
Central was ATV in different colours; the company was forced to restructure and rebrand itself in order to secure the licence in the 1982 franchise round. In 1994, Carlton bought the company, warts and all. In 2002 the whole lot was absorbed into ITV Plc.
Central wasn't exactly ATV - the ownership of the new company was diffrent. Crucially, Central inherited ATVs local news library, but didn't get the bulk of ATVs programme library, as the major programmes were made by ITC Who withdrew from the company at that time. AIUI ATV productions such as regional, childrens and Schools programmes did go over.
The ATV/ITC programme library was owned by Polygram until the late 90's when Carlton bought it thus reuniting the 2 archives. Now the ATV, ITC and central Archives are now all part of ITV PLC

As for stuff that has been binned - it's true. Anything useful is reused or auctioned off. Everything else was dumped.
But then that's the same with any company. Businesses don't keep hold of lots of redundant equipment.. Most of what was binned would have been replaced by now anyway. In terms of tapes I would have thought that most of what was binned were duplicates and rushes

As happened with the old Lenton Lane studios in Nottingham, all the technical equipment, the editing, the cameras, everything useful was for sale. After the programme library was moved to wherever (as one can make a packet on it in syndication), the campus was sold to the University of Nottingham.
I believe the programme library previously in Nottingham went up to Leeds. It wasn't just ITV programmes though, Carlton had a big collection of film rights (including I believe all the Carry Ons) all these were at Nottingham

So back in the "good old days" when Central pres was in Brum, would material held in Nottingham have been physically taken to Brum for TX playout or would it be sent down the line?

While I can understand ITC retaining the classic film series, as their name was on them, surely ATV themselves made the VT stuff, so should've been kept by Central, or was this due to sales rights?
