Thought it might go to BBC3 if anywhere. What time will BBC2 screen it?
I really don't get why they commissioned it if only intended to air in daytime - I'd have thought at least a primetime BBC3 repeat would make it more worth while.

I suppose its that old 75 or something stupid% of BBC Three programming has to be created for the channel nonsense again.
If anything is it worth moving eggheads to BBC One daytime, and putting it on in a tea time slot, possibly under the switch branding, and then milking it at the weekend with an omnibus? It would make more sense as it seems to be aimed more at teens than it is adults (which is why I don't understand that its only airing was in the afternoon with no teatime repeat.

Have the BBC ever done this before - axed something from BBC1 and let it play out on BBC2?
I know quite a few daytime programmes have switched from BBC1 to BBC2 and back again, but with the likes of Eggheads that's to allow them a bigger audience than they got during daytime on BBC1.
Can't really recall though a programme being "demoted" - plenty have been "promoted" from BBC2/3 to BBC1, but not many go the other way.
