There have been a number of issues with the live streams as well today, assume the weather is causing these, this is not unknown from Flushing Meadows in the past. See note above re split US coverage too which indicates levels of detail.

Interestingly, in Germany, Eurosport 1 is free to air while Eurosport 2 must be paid for, so naturally German tennis fans are complaining when matches involving German players like Dustin Brown and Angelique Kerber are shown on Eurosport 2.

I could see them doing the same during the Olympics too, though I'm imagining they've sub-contracted rights to ARD/ZDF there like they have to the BBC here, so they'll probably show events of significant German interest anyway.

I caught a little bit of the Konta game on Eurosport 1 earlier, and the ball was juddering all over the place - a relic of poor 60Hz->50Hz conversion. Has all their coverage been like that, or has British Eurosport opted out of the main coverage to show a British player and don't quite have as good facilities available?

Possibly. While Konta was being treated on court, it was being shown on both ES1 and ES2 with different commentators, I assume there was a break in play in the Kerber match on ES2. I understand that International ES1 was showing Harrison/Raonic instead.

I wish the Presenters would shut up while the points are being played except for Greg and the Ladies the other love to talk about how great they were what a laugh one of them has only won one challenger.

Eurosport have revealed details of their US Open tennis coverage, which they have exclusivity on since it was dropped by Sky this year.

Quote:
Eurosport, the UK’s home of Grand Slam tennis, is to bring tennis fans the best ever coverage of the US Open with more than 200 hours exclusively live as history maker Andy Murray, the first tennis player to win two Olympic singles titles, targets back-to-back Grand Slams.

All the action from 29 August to 11 September will be shown live and exclusively on Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 and the Eurosport Player which, for the first time in the UK, will show live action from 12 match courts so tennis fans can enjoy unparalleled coverage on multiple devices, when and where they want.

A stellar presenter line-up has been secured for the US Open with Rob Curling at the helm alongside former British No. 1 players Greg Rusedski and Annabel Croft. Grand Slam champions Pat Cash, Mats Wilander and Mary Pierce will be joined in Flushing Meadows by Andrew Castle, Mark Petchey, Jo Durie and Catherine Whitaker with Simon Reed, Frew McMillan and Chris Bradnam on commentary duties.

Eurosport 2 UK changed their schedule today for the Naomi Broady match to start at 17:00 instead of 21:00, only for rain to delay play so ES2 is now showing the same match as ES1 only with different commentary as it's showing the international version of ES1.

ES2 still has Diamond League athletics scheduled at 19:00, if Murray or Broady (unlikely) isn't done by then they will have to make a decision on what to put on Eurosport Player.

They delayed the athletics to 19:30, then dropped it from the Sky EPG altogether, before the rain came down in New York so they dropped straight into it after an ad break (it was already going on Eurosport player).

Complete lack of any continuity, not even a ticker, and Sky EPG not updated.

Courts being dried but Eurosport 2 have started showing a replay match. At least now there is a ticker to explain.

Commentators telling us about the temperatures in the main court- "55" and "80" degrees. Maybe they should remember that their viewers aren't in America and tell us what that is in celsius. Cos I certainly have no idea what 55 and 80 is without looking it up!

80℉ is about 27℃ - I remember 16℃ is 61℉ and 28℃ is 82℉.

Dan Evans not getting any main TV coverage again, despite being on the EPG that it would. Could be because of the court he is on (it was changed twice); it is on Eurosport Player without commentary.

Seems Curling and Co finish with the introduction of the night session, as Mark Petchey acted as continuity between the two matches, introducing highlights from and earlier match in between.

Marion Bartoli was in the commentary box for the Serena Williams match. She has got worse since she worked for ITV on Roland Garros

Eurosport Player appears to be having problems with the court streams, none available except Court 5.

I just spotted one of the screens in the courts flashing up [APPLAUSE], like you see in TV studios. Do Americans really have to be prompted when to cheer at a tennis match? Shocked
