Didn’t expect to see Dermot, Claudia & Clara in a studio. I thought they’d be presenting it from home.

It does rather go against the whole ethos of the thing.

Also looks as though Lorraine's screen is getting some more use. They made a point of saying they're in TC1 as its big enough to maintain the proper social distance for the whole studio crew.

Yes I did think that. Odd cut away during the Lady Gaga performance that just showed her on the screen for no apparent reason.

Wonder if they'll be using this studio for the Comic Relief/CIN event on Thursday.

Totally agree. It’s very low paced moving away between each performance going back to the studio.

Also, they all seem to self introduce. Makes it pointless hearing Dermot say “here’s Little Mix”, to then have them say “hi, we’re Little Mix” seconds later.

Did they really need 3 hosts?

The inserts and presentation added in are making it feel a bit too parochial. It's not really true to the title, In fact it feels like the material is there as filler. I was expecting something a bit more 'Live Aid'

Out of 8 hours of content, I don't think we're even going to get more than 60 minutes

It’s definitely got a better feel than the programme that I watched last night. They’re utilising the performances without forcing them all down our throats and mixing it with UK focussed interviews and performances.

It is odd that it stems from a programme about being together at home for them to be in a studio.

Looks like a lot of the furniture has been borrowed from This Morning.

I think they've said "lots more still to come" in every single link so far and I feel like they're going to keep saying it till 9:10.

Ugh they've got 8 hours worth of performances to play with and they're filling time with stuff we've heard a hundred times on pretty much every Corona related show. Why have they done it like this, I don't get it?

I imagine because it’s more akin to what a BBC audience are used too, unlike some American telethons that are more music performance based.

The BBC used to mount and/or show long form music telethons. Better to have shown perhaps 4 or 5 hours of the original event on BBC 2 or 4.This is just a 'run of the mill' CV19 info programme using the event as padding
