Presumably this isn't being aired live due to promotional content during it's US Transmission .....

Channel 5 will be showing it live at 1am due to being part of ViacomCBS

No they won't.

BBC One has secured the first UK television broadcast of One World: Together At Home
If Channel 5 was showing it live, BBC One wouldn't have the first UK television broadcast of it. It's only on ViacomCBS's channels in the US.

Yeah, they'll be editing that stuff out and showing it the next day.

The global broadcast will then be adapted and broadcast on BBC One on Sunday 19 April.

I imagine quite a lot of people will find a live stream online, Watching highlights the next day doesn't sound amazing.

France Télévisions did a similar thing two weeks ago now, but less celeb-obsessed that this appears to be. Presenters in studio, all contributors remote (Skype) + recorded packages.

Bit long (3 hours) and I've only watched about 30 minutes of it, but I was impressed with how well it seemed to be working technically.

Since when is NBC part of ViacomCBS?

It's also on so many streaming platforms, people who want to watch it live will probably be able too.

EDIT: Here is the official link: https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/connect/togetherathome/
It also says ABC will show it too.

I didn't say it was. I meant only on their channels in the US, not the UK. i.e. not on Channel 5.

So it looks like either Emmerdale or Corrie have a VE Day episode coming up in about 2 months time as well

Don’t know why they feel the need to shout about it.
Custard56, VMPhil and Jon gave kudos

I'd imagine it's something to do with the deadly virus that's going around throwing everything into chaos. I can't say for sure, but you know, just a hunch.

Thanks, Whataday. We'd all somehow missed this news. You're really so much cleverer than everyone else. There's no way designers are able to work from home so of course this Twitter post was bound to look terrible in the circumstances. I'm glad we've established that we're not allowed to make any comments which have the slightest hint of humour to them. Back to the deadly virus ...
