After a successful pilot, The ONE Show will return to BBC ONE's early evening schedules later this year. It's a nightly, topical features magazine show. We're now looking for a Series Producer who will ensure Current Affairs delivers stories of the highest creative and journalistic quality.

You'll have sound journalistic experience and a passion for popular television and, you'll know how to develop topical stories to engage viewers who may well have just seen national and local news. You'll combine original journalism with treatments that work for a pre-watershed audience. And you'll be experienced at dealing with legal and editorial matters under pressure and leading a team from idea development through to the cutting room.

Wonder what the new titles will look like...

(There has to be new titles as the old ones were based on the old logo)

I don't know why this show's coming back. IMO we've moved on from the whole Nationwide genre.

Well when the show was on in August it regularly attracted an audience of around 4 million which is very good considering th e opposition of Emmerdale, and it also being during the summer, when fewer people watch tv in the evening. Therefore the reasin the show is coming back is because people watched it first time round.

It's to be broadcast from London (although TVC hasn't been confirmed AFAIK - could be from anywhere...!) The involvement of all regions has been much reduced as well with just a few producers being based in the major centres. The additional 5 minute regional opt at 1925 has also been dropped.

I rather liked the One Show in August, but hated the titles and the theme music. I was also praying that its logo wasn't the base for BBC1's new logo in October.

I'm hoping for something like the "One to Watch" trailers - the BBC logo is replaced by [T] [H] [E] and the word "Show" is beneath where the region name would normally go. Maybe the flying map BBC News theme (or a re-recording of the said) would go quite well with it, if the titles were spot on...

Or, to put it another way:-
Last August's One Show was but a pale immitation of the original Nationwide; yet they've now found a way to make the new One Show a pale immitation of last August's version.

Well done the BBC!
