IIRC... was that actually a GOOD show I just saw on ITV?

If it's a nod to Sunday Night at the London Palladium, I don't know what is, but that show surely proved variety isn't dead. I found the show incredibly enjoyable, and hope it doesn't get dragged down by poor ratings. Nice to see they took on Joan Rivers with caution, blanking out whatever naughty words she came out with. Even though I'd prefer it on a Saturday where most variety entertainment is (or should i say WAS) kept, I'll be watching next week for sure,

What did everybody else think of it?

I was a bit disappointed with it really - seemed far too much filler and not enough of the acts.

Hopefully though it's given a chance and overtime will sort out any problems - after all it was the first show - but for an hour long show, there didn't seem to be that much in it.

I enjoyed the show tonight, but like mentioned above there seemed to be too much filler so to speak. The Milton chap was funny, the whole finale thing at the end was not needed.

I agree, I just thought "why are they doing this?" when the finale was on.

I found it far more entertaining than I thought I would. Especially with such a bizarre pairing of presenters. I doubt the ratings will agree, though. 7pm on a Sunday night is not good for this type of show in this day and age.

I agree, it was a very good show and proves that ITV can still pull it off when they try. Nice to see Geoff Posner/Pozzitive Television associated with the production.

Hopefully it will pick up some good ratings and iron out any creases it currently has.

It's the first time I've tuned into ITV1 for a long time now, I thought it was a fresh attempt on the old variety show. Most impressed! Wink

Where's it being filmed? It seemed very big to be London Studios.

I wasn't blown away - and I find Vernon Kay way too "rent-a-presenter" to do this kind of thing.

On a pres note, was the font used in the logo is the same as the Night Time idents back in the 80s? The "Night" in "For One Night Only" looked pretty familiar.

Well I suppose that's better than first thought
