Obviously the BBC sell the shows to UKTV but that certinally in no way stops the BBC from showing them as well. There seems to be some confusion here that because UKTV have the shows, that BBC1 can't show them as well.

Funny thing is, UK Gold are quite choosy as to what they want.
They will also more or less refuse to show anything anymore in black and white - so Steptoe and Son is out, because Galton and Simpson wont give the rights for them to show it if its just the colour episodes only.

The BBC and UK Gold do repeat shows at the same time... TO THE MANOR BORN is a current example (showing daly on UK Gold and at weekends on BBC TWO).

UK Gold and BBC ONE have repeated may episodes of ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE (which is of course one of the all time best comedies... EVER).

However I do think there are some rights issues will a few episodes of OFITG (from I think series 2). Which was never released as a Complete Series on BBC Video, unlike all the others. Series 2 IIRC was released on a couple of seperate videos, one of which is no longer in print.
