Is anyone watching this on BBC1 at the moment?

It looks reasonably promising, even if I think he might be relying too much on the bellydance.

The Kebab Shop musical was quite good. The rest was just "Look at me, I'm Iranian".

We have some Polish down the road, will they get a series on BBC on the basis of that rather than talent? If so I will be round their house in the morning offering to be their agent.

Did anyone see the trailer for this, it was just audio and the BBC one red endboard.

From what I understand he's quite funny and from what i've seen of him on HIGNFY he comes across as been quite funny.

That's the problem with stand up they only appeal to some, some people don't even like Bill Bailey because of his routine, however those people have no sense of humour Wink Very Happy

I found it quite funny in the end. It was quite good - and, while I originally thought Saturday evening was strange scheduling, now it seems like the perfect time to show it. It wouldn't really have fitted into the Thursdays are Funny strand, or BBC1's Friday night comedy.

Do they have a long career of film acting and stand up comedy?

Not seen his show from last night yet but have seen him live a few times and he's great, absolutely stormed it both times

I liked it, reminds me alot of The Lenny Henry Show, but I think it should be with it's other comedy show friends on Fridays.

Am I missing something? I don't find the concept of being Iranian especially side-splitting - and there's not much to his act other than that.

Very weak.
