ESPN have done a much better job with their custom London logo than NBC have, evoking the TFL / London Underground roundel:

Shame about the cliché teacups!

You would think though more would opt for their fake view to be of the Olympic park.

Well, when British telly goes to the big football tournaments they usually opt for a view over a major landmark rather than a stadium - like in Paris, Berlin and Cape Town. I know they're all over a country rather than in a specific place but the stadium isn't of such an iconic design the average international viewer would recognise it over a shot of the Tower of London or something. And there are probably some countries where their main interests aren't in the stadium but in some of the other venues.

It's surprising more broadcasters don't go for a window view of the park, instead more of them focus on major London landmarks and a lot of major broadcasters having screens and not windows.

There aren't an infinite number of studio positions with decent views and windows available - and many broadcasters don't have unlimited budgets.

You would think though more would opt for their fake view to be of the Olympic park. And why on earth do CCTV need seven sets?

They have a lot of networks, and being top of the medal table I suspect they are taking it quite seriously...

I guess so - and suspect Christ the Redeemer will be the shot of choice for many broadcasters in four years time.

There is a second studio base, similar to the BBC's, AIUI - which some broadcasters are using - but I suspect many can't afford it.

I've not seen any pictures of the view from here, but I think you can only really see the stadium, and very little of the rest of the park.

Here's one of them I saw in use the other day, any idea whose studio this is?

I think DR may be in that building - they have a very similar tree in the foreground of their window shot.

NRK, DR and SVT all have studios with windows.

Nordic folk love their natural light, if you've ever visited the region in winter, you'd understand why !

CCTV, TVE (Spain), Record Brasil and Sky Italia are some of the occupants of the OBS Tower.
It also has pictures of NRK’s scaffold-top studio.

Thanks! They've quite a big presence here then, with the sports channel's studios on the tower block and on the South Bank.

Noticed while I was out today that Swiss TV have a little studio at the Swiss Olympic House near London Bridge, although from their big screen coverage I could see they have a larger one at the IBC. Also spotted the main France Televisions studio on the other side of the Thames in the French House so it seems a few of the broadcasters are making use of the Olympic Houses. A friend said they saw a studio at the Danish one in St Katherine's Dock as well.
