ITV Sport's Matt Smith is one of the internal presenters at Wembley Stadium. I don't know if that's a regular freelance gig for him or just for the Olympics.

That was a tweet by Rainn Wilson (from the US Office). It was clearly a joke but thousands of Brit twitts took it seriously becasue we don't get saracasm or irony.

Hang on, you're being ironic, right ?

I see Argos TV are currently (although not live) selling a television and in the process are managing to show more footage of the Olympics than Sky News have all week.

It's surprising more broadcasters don't go for a window view of the park, instead more of them focus on major London landmarks and a lot of major broadcasters having screens and not windows.

There aren't an infinite number of studio positions with decent views and windows available - and many broadcasters don't have unlimited budgets.

AIUI just as in previous games, many IBC studios won't have windows at all. (Remember the BBC in Sydney had no windows - they ended up running a VR system with cameras in a harbour-side apartment)

There is a second studio base, similar to the BBC's, AIUI - which some broadcasters are using - but I suspect many can't afford it.

I suspect the quoted BBC Producer was being polite about the ZSpace Foxtel set... Bezel-less plasmas and an anodyne desk which could easily be in Sydney vs a stylish sofa and a decent floor-to-ceiling window view...

You'd hope so.

You would think though more would opt for their fake view to be of the Olympic park. And why on earth do CCTV need seven sets?
