That's simply ridiculous, isn't it?

I like how their view actually looks more like Washington than London

And why do they present Sport as if it is News? I just don't get it.

And don't get me started on the US obsession with dark wood and fake living room sets (not that NBC Sport is a fake living room set- but load of US shows use them)...

In America, sport IS news. It's such a large part of their national psyche, from highschool through college to the major leagues etc... You think Sky Sports News and Jeff Stelling's Soccer Saturday are OTT? That's replicated on a national, state-wide and local level through multiple layers of TV, radio, print and online.... it's an insane billion dollar industry.

Fake living room sets belong firmly in the realm of Late Night talk shows.

Credit to MLB Network for creating a fake baseball stadium as their sets mind, complete with retired number #42.

COPYRIGHT FAIL ALERT.

Belarussian state channel "ONT" somehow illigaly borrow olympic content from BBC or even download stuff from torrents.
Here's the proof

(so, they don't have right to broadcast OBS stuff)
only state tv(theoretically ONT is owned by the Ministry of Information)

So, they broadcast news with BBC content, even we can hear there bbc commentary

Shame on them. How unprofessional.

But surely it's very important to have all those book cases in the studio. I'm sure during down-time they want to do a little light reading... Rolling Eyes

Did NBC not know who they were? And people thought the BBC's Jubilee research was bad...

They did know who they were because there was a biography of both of them in the media guide (as previously posted by dosxuk, http://www.london2012.com/mm/Document/Documents/Publications/01/30/43/40/OPENINGCEREMONYGUIDE_English.pdf) but apparently one of the presenters said she had not heard of Tim Berners-Lee, presumably meaning before that evening, and this was picked up by certain people and reported alongside the legitimate criticism. Why let common sense and accuracy get in the way of a good story? See also the monkey/black people racism claim reported earlier by ginnyfan.

I assume all their "windows" are projections or CSOs so they can manipulate the background and convince viewers we're in the same time zone.

I think that part of the set could be called fake living room or perhaps fake drawing room.

Haha, that's priceless! Obviously fits in with their quaint view of Britain. It's as if they're relaxing in a country mansion; you know, the ones to be found on practically every street corner over here Rolling Eyes

Someone told me today, that many Americans couldn't (reportedly) understand why Abraham Lincoln was featured in the opening ceremony ?! Rolling Eyes

But that's still appalling. Any educated person, regardless of nationality, (particularly working in the media !), should know who TBL is !

That was a tweet by Rainn Wilson (from the US Office). It was clearly a joke but thousands of Brit twitts took it seriously becasue we don't get saracasm or irony.

The issue was not that she hadn't heard of him beforehand, the issue was she correctly introduced him and then revelled in her own ignorance like some sort of moron.
