Looks like the BBC will be screening the gymnastics on BBC2 and BBC3 in order for it to be available in HD on BBC HD, though surprised they care about Freeview HD viewers really as it would be in HD on other platforms.

I wouldn't be surprised if they received complaints yesterday when they aired the F1, as the content moved to BBC Two wasn't in HD. I have the 24 streams on Sky and I still found it annoying as it didn't have the proper presented coverage.

Talking of Equestrian I notice they have a sport specific transition graphic (the equestrian sport logo) rather than the rings, though technically it's cutting from one shot to another rather than a replay.

Surely they would only need to broadcast it on BBC Two or BBC Three for it to be available on BBC HD.

BBC HD is simulcasting BBC Three during Olympic hours, presentation included, so it has to be on BBC Three. Switching to BBC Two is likely to involve a nasty cut from whatever BBC Three is covering, so it's best to change both and introduce it properly.

BBC1 caught severely napping on their Olympics coverage. The medal ceremony has just taken place in the gymnastics and BBC1 choose to have Clare Balding talking about the swimming which hasn't even started yet.

First medal in 100 years in the Gymnastics at an Olympics and BBC1 don't show the medal ceremony, disgrace!

It was live on BBC Three, anyone who cared enough would have stayed with their coverage. It will be covered on BBC One on soon I would've have thought. It's not something that needs more than 30 seconds of BBC One airtime.

Olympics 17, channel 466 showing the fencing sit down protest at the moment.

Yes, its high drama.

BBC a bit slow at updating website homepage; it's still reporting a silver win for the gymnasts despite that changing over an hour ago. The link also goes to a video stream that has now ended. A bit shoddy.

I caught the start of the medal ceremony during the walk out and just wanted to know where they'd come so flicked onto the website and couldn't see the information for the life of me - that sport homepage just has far too much going on (turns out the link was in a top right box, my eyes never bothered looking over there). I ended up for the second time recently on the ITV site which clearly told me without having to scan around the page in all directions! </rant over>

I agree - the BBC Sport website is just a mess at the moment.

And the BBC showing now they can get three people in their spot at the Aquatics Centre, so no reason Ian Thorpe couldn't be there.
