Sky News is really extraordinary, trying to cover the games in it's entirety without any of the footage. Why would I want to 'stay with them' for updates on Rebecca Adlington when I can see the race in it's entirety on BBC One ?
People abroad, ex pats, business travellers, and holiday makers ?
The only time I watch Sky News, is when I'm abroad, because it's the only TV News service available that has 'full' UK news.
I doubt there is anyone abroad who can't watch the whole thing on one of their domestic channels.
Except the states of course
Ah, well, yes, but unless you're in a country that has one of more of its athletes in a particular event, the local broadcaster is unlikely to be covering it ?
And Sky News would?

If we answered that question this would have to become a rota thread. It's not.
^ When is Mishal's slot? I know Gary's in prime time and Sue before him.

Presumbly they're keeping Ian Thrope on because it's been a big night for the swimming.
Have 2 of tonight's guests not turned up? We had 3 last night, only 2 tonight and one of them is Ian Thorpe who has been on since Mishal Hussain's slot.

They obviously can't cover it, but they can provide the result within seconds ?

I wasn't a massive fan of the BBC cutting out of the World Feed to show their own camera of Adlington during her race, which seemed lower-quality to me and also all of the graphics disappeared. They also 'opted-out' of the replays at the end of the race which meant that there were a few flash-frames as the World Feed changed just before the BBC cut out of it. Not a big bother, I suppose, but it was a bit 'NBC' in the human interest stakes...

I really dislike that promo describing how to access the BBC's coverage with Jake and Misha. It's probably because they've got them stood like idiots for much of the time with their sides to the camera. Looks very awkward. Jake also sounds very unenthusiastic though it probably is quite difficult to express much enthusiasm when you've got your head cricked to the side.
OV
I agree with you there, while I appreciate the BBC wanted to focus more on Rebecca Adlington, the shots simply were as good as the feed coming out of OBS.
Otherwise, I've found the BBC's coverage to be extremely good, and the picture quality coming out of OBS is simply brilliant.

It'd be interesting to see which countries / companies have got the production contracts, and who's providing facilities for them.
