Very good line up on Olympics Tonight hosted by Gabby Logan. John McEnroe, Michael Johnson and Kelly Holmes are guests.

Watching the Olympic Basketball, although the Womens Team GB players are behind... the American commentator has said absolutely nothing positive, even with the baskets that GB have scored. 'They scored but could have done better'...'They are a weak side'...'No good on the offensive'...'No good control at all'...'Only 4 fouls on GB, thats all'... yet when the Australia's score 'They're totally outplaying the Brits'...'Fantastic basket!'...

Can someone shove him off to NBC please, his anti-GB'ness is borderline rude and inapropriate. If the Australian's were totally wiping the floor - then I could understand some criticism but GB are not that far behind.

Also, Gaby Logan has said to press the red button for the Badmington - that finished nearly 40 minutes ago!

Maybe he's telling the truth?

To to provide some balance to what your saying I thought it was highly inappropriate when Jill Douglas practically said to the winner Vinokourov that he had taken Mark Cavendish's medal. She asked him what it was like winning the medal that all of Britain hoped Cavendish would win. He ended the interview himself cycling off.

On Olympics 9 after the boxing, we got to see what gets played on the big screens in the arenas when the sessions close at night and people leave off... you see a clip of Sebastien Coe thanking you for coming and then a clips of different athletes doing a piece to camera.

It's still Saturday night if he hasn't gone to bed isn't it? That's what the BBC 25 / 26 hour clock is for...

That was a bit of a stupid question.

Seems to be a bit of 'messing about' opting in & out.

Bearing in mind BBC ONE & BBC NEWS are practically simulcasting from midnight onwards, surely it would have been easier for Sue Thearle to say 'Now on BBC ONE & the BBC NEWS CHANNEL, its time for Olympic Sportsday'.

I suppose the same will happen at five to 1, BBC ONE will do Weatherview while the NC will broadcast its own forecast, then they will all join up at 1 (with World) again for the rest of the night.

Why couldn't BBC ONE start the overnight simulcast at midnight officially, as it just seems daft this way.

Two initial reasons I can think of:
- It enables BBC One to do their own programme at short notice if they so desire
- "Joins the BBC News Channel" in the EPG doesn't really indicate that the Olympic coverage is continuing.

You can hear a woman telling the commentators of the woman's cycling road race various things in the background. She just whispered to them that part of the course around the Diana fountain had been refurbished and then the commentator relayed that information to the viewer. The sound is a bit odd in general. One of the commentators has a cough and has coughing fits every so often, he seems to step away from the microphone to cough but his microphone isn't faded down and we can hear him coughing everytime.
