A single highlights stream (as has been the case at previous games ISTR) would be good - but there isn't a bottomless pit of money...

Has anything continued on the Sport Multiscreen highlights wise? It might have been wise for them to repeat some sessions (in full) in the evening - notably things like cycling and rowing - but I guess the focus has been online for people wanting to catch up on sessions.

There is now a highlights option on the Sport Multiscreen (available via the Red Button and using the normal BBC Interactive capacity - not the 24 HD/SD streams) It might have been there before - hadn't spotted it.

(and also the accreditation passes - your signature is very slightly wrong Smile)

Only very slightly...

There's something sketchy about that - the London ones look like this - and once they've been laminated, the hologram goes on the same line as the barcode. Is that one from a previous event?

Have the BBC got a graphics feed at the stadium? The footage of the final heats of the heptathlon had a very strong GB focus, and there were a couple of dodgy cuts between shots, looking like the BBC were putting their own shots in, but the clock stayed on throughout...
There's a CTV scanner down at the stadium doing a BBC mix of the athletics.

So ... Was it planned all along for the Gymnastics to be shown on BBC TWO (1350-1630) this afternoon, or has Murray reaching the Final at Wimbledon forced a change?

So great stuff from the BBC - but pointless VT favoured over crowd welcoming an Olympic champion just waiting to be crowned.

Indeed !

And Dickenson had the cheek to say, "you've just missed a huge welcome for Jessica Ennis" as if it was OUR fault !

I don't like those VTs anyway, they tempt far too much fate !

The BBC Two slot is in the Radio Times so very much planned - is this the only major chunk of the games that is on BBC1, 2 and 3? Interesting the tennis final is billed as on BBC1 and BBC3 - presumably that's them covering their backs in case Murray didn't get through, it won't actually be on both I presume.

The VT thing last night is classic BBC...happened all throughout the jubilee coverage. Who cares about covering what's actually happening, you're going to watch these VTs we've spent time making instead.

I had the pleasure of being in the Stadium this evening to witness the wonderful evening of sport. The emotion of the night was amazing. From a tv perspective it's interesting that Ben Shepherd presents a pre show and a post show for the audience in the Stadium. Also, you don't realise it from watching on tv but there is commentary throughout the entire evening within the stadium and there is music playing the whole time which makes the races really fly along.

What an amazing experience. What a night to say I was there!

Same here. Absolute privilege to say I was there. A totally amazing, unforgettable experience. Still pinching myself.

Can't wait to get home later in the week and download everything on iPlayer.

What are you all talking about? It has to be Jessica Ennis. As she showed today she achieved excellence in 7 different sports. To me that's the ultimate sports personality.

Surely the key word is 'Personality'? it doesn't matter how many sports someone is good at or how much they win, it's down to what they are like as a person too.

Ennis or Wiggins on that factor

Andy Murray bumped to BBC Two for the news? I never thought I'd see the day that would happen. That's a precedent set for the next Wimbledon!

I doubt it, as Olympic tennis is less well regarded than Wimbledon.

Northern Ireland, which had opted out for GAA, scrapped its post match coverage in order to head straight back to the mixed doubles tennis at the Olympics.
