SO NBC are showing it live, have there learnt there lesson from Opening?

Did they manage to bleep Eric Idle's "s**t" (or Jessie J's for that matter, though hers was less obvious)? The fellas at the freakin' FCC'll be having kittens if they didn't.

He didn't though.

London seemed to give Rio more space for their little bit than Beijing did for London.

It didn't sound like "spit" to me. That line was not subtitled at all.

Either way, that's something that probably won't make the NBC edit.

How strange to see The Sky at Night on BBC One. First non-news/weather or sports programming since 27th July.

I suspect the whole of Eric Idle's act would have bene edited out by NBC, they must have been bemused by most of the three hours anyway.

The dummy in the Pink Floyd tightrope/burning man skit, reminded me of David Bond (and I hadn't been drinking (by that stage))

I liked the fact the cauldron finally extinguished at bang on Midnight (could never have been planned for that)

Apt though, isn't it BBC 1's longest running series ?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the end credit sequence was noticeably sans credits! Confused

They did the credits earlier at 18:55hrs.

I doubt many people were watching beyond Midnight, being a Sunday night, and work the next morning.

Mrs MarkyMark just managed to stay awake to see the flame extinguishing, then dropped off.

I wonder what the audience drop off was in Europe ?
