Which network in the UK is covering the olympics? Here in Canada, the main CBC network is covering the olympics 24/7. It's scary!

In the UK it's all carried on BBC Two and webcast on bbc.co.uk

Don't forget British Eurosport, which is also covering it 24/7.

Is BBC Two broadcasting coverage 24/7?

No...

BBCi carries it most of the day, but why is there a need for 24h coverage when the Olympic Day is not much longer than 12-14 hours?

That's a very good point actually -

For us in Canada, most events are early in the morning, but they still show all the events live and they repeat throughout the day.

Canada is more of a winter sports nation than Britain, and has much more serious medal interest. Therefore it makes sense that there is more extensive coverage.

Due to the time difference, the BBC is showing all the events live during sociable hours. If this was not the case, I have no doubt the BBC would have nightly highlights (like Nagano 98, Essential Winter Olympics 7pm-8.30pm nightly).

Broadcasted on CBC?

Yep. They're only not showing coverage for about 4 hours a day.

From what I've seen CBC has non-stop coverage, about three times more than BBC. Even all the advertising is Winter Olympics related!
