BBC Weather have a nice Olympic themed Torch Relay graphic:

That is rather nice. Off topic but I do wish the BBC would change their weather astons - the graphics themselves are fine, but always though the Day/Time aston didn't look quite right.

Yeah, they're on the Barco's, rather than keyed on top, that's why it looks curved slightly.

Olympic Torch: West crashed back in to network in the middle of a promo for The Apprentice. Maybe they found it difficult to time it against a live programme like The One Show.

Great show.

Is Bbc West live from Cheltenham tonight as well as Bbc West Midlands?

Yeah, caught the end of Points West, they overran so much that the One Show opening theme was faded up over the closing shots of Cheltenham.

I think Police Officers always carry their warrant cards, but normal uniforms have somewhere specific to keep them. The uniforms they are wearing for the Torch Relay are presumably not designed for this...

I know a little bit about this Wink Wink

Yes, you are required to carry your warrant card with you at ll times, whether on or of duty.

This may be slightly off-topic but does this mean that serving police officers are not allowed to be nudists or go on strike?

Well, they aren't allowed to strike...

Section 91 Police Act 1996, if you want to look it up. They need the right to strike, but that's another debate.

**** Carry on...

Nick Owen filling quite a bit on Olympic Torch: West Midlands. It seems that the torch is running late so they haven't been able to show the cauldron being lit and now the programme has finished. At least the West Midlands had Nick Owen to fill. I don't think Dame Kelly Holmes would be able to do that.

It's a shame Network thinks Eastenders is so important that they cant drop the odd episode!

While other regions couldve seen an hour long One Show, the regions opting out couldve done their programme properly!

Why should the rest of the country have missed Eastenders (and endured extra One Show) just for West Midlands local output? WM could have opted-out of EE if necessary, leaving the rest of the country as normal (far from ideal, but at least disruption would have been confined to WM only)

WM region is post DSO, so shove the Torch Relay onto Ch 301/Red Button from 19:30hrs ? In fact why not simulcast all the regional torch shows on 301 anyway ?
