It's the torch heading around the Country with many people involved in carrying it through their local area until the Olympics in July.
The BBC intends to broadcast it being carried, but I would have expected other broadcasters to see its significance, with a possibility of the next Olympics a generation away.

I wonder if we will see any of The One Show on BBC News. That would be interesting.
Sophie Raworth is presenting from there on The One Show and Jane Hill said on the BBC News Channel that they would be covering the arrival live. I'd be surprised if they didn't because they've already covered the Lighting of the Torch in Olympia (last week) and the Handover Ceremony (yesterday).
Can anyone else see the torch relay coverage being a massive flop? I'm always into the Olympics but I'm not interested in watching it on TV whatsoever aside from the launch of it tonight. The fact that so many hours of it will be available to stream live just baffles me and I'm not sure there's any real need to extend some of the regional news programmes for it. I mean it's just people carrying a flame.

Surely people are going to be interested when it's going through their own town.
If you live in London or Manchester, you might not be too bothered, but in a place where not much happens that's quite exciting.

Well yeah I would be interested but it could quite easily be covered during an extended report in the main 30 minute programme given, as you say, there won't be much else happening.

There'll probably be another one in four years.
I don't think the Olympics will be back in the UK in 2016, unless your organising it.
Does anybody really care about the Olypmics, let alone TV coverage of a flame being carried around the country? Apart from media bods on TV, I haven't heard one person talk about it at all. It's just a complete non-event when the country is on its knees and everybody's feeling the pinch. It just feels like a massive waste of money whilst the government is screwing everybody using every available means at their disposal. I really hope some broadcasters don't jump on the BBC bandwagon with the Olympics. It'd be nice to have some alternative choices for those uninterested in the games.
