Owing to today's farcical events in the Grand Prix, ITV1 rolled out "ITV Sport Classics" as a filler programme in place of the F1 highlights - replete with blue triangle era ITV logo, and LWT endcap.

(It was even vaugely entertaining, although I somehow doubt that they'll live up to their promise of returning soon)

Saw this, interesting it was. Pity that all that remains of World of Sport in the archive is the actual unedited events as opposed to the studio presentation.

That edition of "ITV Sport Classics" was largely a rehash of the final day of "World of Sport" on ITV in September 1985, without the Dickie Davies studio links.

In many ways it showed just how bizarre a programme "World of Sport" could be.

Surely there must be SOME of the actual programmes in the archive - I would be amazed if that final edition wasn't in the archive somewhere.

Scary stuff. Could they have put him closer to the screen? I wouldn't like to see this cropped and zoomed to widescreen. Is this the old London Tonight studio?

A London Sports Network production...

... for LWT. No date on it, when were these actually made?

No that is either just an office window in the tower or the old riverview studio they used for LWT news (and 6 O Clock/Weekend Live) before LNN launched

Weird. It has the old LWT logo on one slide, but the newer one on the other. Still nice to see the old ITV logo again.

They'd have full programmes, but the point of the programme was 'sport' classics.... not classic TV

Yes but the point I was actually making was that most of the programme wrapping is now lost, for reasons that are explained quite well here:
