Close, European Business News, or better known as EBN. On Sky it only broadcast between 6am and 12pm on Bravo, it was 24 hours a day on Cable.

Thanks - I must admit I was thinking EBN but the name sounded to simple for it to be correct! (IIRC logo was light blue circicle on a dark blue background with white EBN letters eminating from the centre point of the light blue circle towards the right hand side!!!)

Super Channel, wasn't it?

Edit: Sorry.. just realised it was NBC Europe which replaced Super Channel.

and then NBC Europe merged with CNBC Europe to have the present CNBC Europe we have today!!!

I still miss the technology/media news that used to be EBN and then transferred to CNBC Europe for a couple of months before it got the axe.

When NBC took over Super Channel in 1993, it was rebranded as NBC Super Channel. IIRC, it wasn't rebranded
to NBC Europe until 1996. It was never broadcast via satellite in the UK. Sky viewers got CNBC Europe instead.

And on the topic of shopping channels - Auction World, which went bust taking a good chunk of our money with it. We had purchased a camera off them, but then nothing happened, they went bankrupt, so nothing was paid back to us... a bit like the Christmas hamper people this year.

Although never on Sky, the original Super Channel was excellent and was available on Eutelsat along with the original Sky Channel.

Super Channel carried lots of UK programming, 'The Goodies', 'EastEnders' etc.

Ah yes, the programme I liked was Media Report, that was really good, but as you say it only lasted a couple of months on CNBC. What was worse for people who watched it on CWC like me, they carried EBN 24 hours a day, but when it changed to CNBC they only carried it from 6.00am until 12.00pm on Bravo! So I could only see it at weekends...

And for you amosc100, a little EBN notsalga...

Don't forget the Money Channel - I remember watching Emma Crosby, Owen Thomas and that bloke from That's Life on That. Then there was Simply Money, with Angela Rippon and Carole Barnes!
