That interview with John Prescott was recorded wasn't it, with just Mark Austin in the camera shot used
Of course that interview was pre-recorded!
It must have been recorded between 18:00 and 18:30 because they used the chromakey studio and you could see the halo-effect around Mark and also his camera was slightly out of focus!
But most people would not have noticed any difference!
They certainly are living up to their slogan of 'Breaking News For Britain'.
Any chance you could stop repeating yourself? How many times have you said that in various different threads? Anyway, it just depends, lately its been an almost 3 way split between various breaking news events and which channel breaks them first.

As John Prescott came from the Calendar studio it can't have been between those times, must have been much earlier

But havent Calendar got TWO news studios like most itv regions?
Surely Calendar is broadcast from the main studio whereas that Prescott interview looked as if it was broadcast from a GMTV-type studio. The background looked static ot chromakey and didnt require a big studio set-up!
How do people know when which channels break news first? I'm sick of hearing...."ooh ITV break this fast, then Sky and then News 24 were last as usual". Do you sit and have three TV's in front of you all day, or do you just sit flicking from one channel to another constantly? How do you know that another channel isn't breaking the news first while you're watching a different one?
Also, they were live at Downing Street with a guy, when suddenly the ITV News Studio balcony, and the blue backdrops faded up briefly over the top of him and disappeared! *confused* I know the balcony is fake, but I thought the blue backdrop was real perspex and not superimposed?
The balcony is fake, yes, but the blue backdrops from the overhead studio shot are also superimposed, as they use a different perspective to give the impression that it is looking down into the newsroom, when the real backdrop is basically just looking into the newsroom from a floor level perspective, so it wouldnt look right from the overhead shot, if that makes sense.
