Very weird; perhaps either Felicity had a dentist's appointment early on but even so Nick coming in for 3 minutes isn't really necessary, he's already had to work extra hours this week already and if Felicity wasn't able to do it Andrea or Rachel could have. Oh well I missed him, very strange...
I noticed that Felicity was standing in front of the screen while doing the sports news. Is this new? I would also like to say how great she is on the news channel. One morning last week, she made several mistakes and then wacked the desk saying she was very tired and something about not being able to read. I like a newsreader that feels comfortable enough to make jokes and not sit there reading the autocue like a dummy. I think they should make the morning news on the channel (i.e. 7:00-10:00) into Breakfast with Felicity or something.
I've always thought Breakfast should be more special, although perhaps a co presenter would make it better... if there was someone else doing the overnight stuff on the ITVNC then Owen Thomas could do it with her, I think they'd make a good couple early in the morning, and then Felicity could stay on and do 45 mins at 11...
Yes the sports is being done differently, and I'm pleased they've done that as I've always thought something like that needed doing, however I reckon it would be even better still to have Fliss on the left and Andrea on the right, and just before the sport they have the dual presenter shot followed by Fliss turning so you can see her and the big screen, like Mark Austin interviewing on the evening news with the screen, because Standing up is not Felicity's strong point (those legs move too much)
i could just imagine it. felicity barr pours a nice cup of hot coffee and puts it on a tray with her morning croissant and then trotts across to the desk, puts it down then perches on the end of the desk like Nicholas at midday.
she might work with owen, but im not sure. i think she tries to be more serious, while he is more lightweight and is almost there for a laugh.
itv news channel needs to be available on freeview in the mornings though. i would probably watch instead of breakfast (as thats just gotten incredibly silly with people spending 45 minutes of the program talking about a sauna in bath).
Good idea, but would it be allowed, what with GMTV owning the hours, maybe GMTV could somehow get their brand on it if a special breakfast show was done on the News Channel.
The EPG for the ITV News Channel said that the 11pm Weekend News was to be with Andrew Harvey. Sadly it was wrong. Tommorow it reckons Steve Scott is presenting it, something even less likely and therefore even more likely to be wrong
Does anybody know what time the ITV News Channel stops being live at night? By presenting a recorded programme throuhgout the night are they breaking the promise of being 24 hours a day? Also, does anyone know where the presenter goes between the last live program and the morning news? Is there like a mini bedroom or something? Something i hope ITV are going to do in the future is have different studios and presenters for e.g. sport etc. Anyone have any inside info on this revamp for 2004?

12.30 - ITV1 Presenter A (Unless A is also C in that case an NC pres does 1-2)

3.00 - NC Presenter 3 or 2?
4.00 - ITV1 Presenter B
5.00 - NC Presenter 3?
5.45 - NC Presenter 4
6.30 - ITV1 Presenters B & C
7.00 - NC Presenter 4
8.00 - ITV1 Presenter D (unless D is Trevor McDonald) then an NC Pres

that looks about right to me. theres a lot of variables with itv news, which is one of its downfalls - having news at ten at different times, trevor being stuck up and not working on the news channel, sometimes running three presenters instead of four etc.
try doing it for a weekend! you deserve a medal if you can getting a correct model for that!

The news channel stops broadcasting live at 1 am. at 1 am there is a news summary for 7 mins then they have a 30 min recording and then at about 22 mins to the hour they have another news summary and they continue this for the rest of the night until 5:30 am when the morning news starts. has anyone got any info or ideas about the revamp in 2004 : what would you like to see changed in 2004 :
On todays ITV Lunchtime news they were running a text vote asking people a question.
The only problem was that they were using the pink/red graphics from the ITV News Channel and looked really odd after not seeing them on ITV1 for a while now.
The ITV News Channel should adopt the new look asap so this mis-matching of branding doesnt occur again!
