The (old) ITV News Thread

Today in fact - 6pm like she used to do during the war.

Not worthy of a new thread, but I've noticed that the ITV News Channel occasional use zooming camera effects back from a break now - it looks great. It's not a big zoom, just moving gently towards the desk from the wide shot before cutting to the normal view. Very nice touch, and I also really like the hour-long format they now use. It's continually improving and is, in my eyes, a lot better than News 24. They seem to be trying to make an effort, even putting some money into it - I stand firm in my belief that the revamp will be amazing if recent changes are anything to go by.

i was awoken by a rather nasty line-up tone this morning after leaving my telly on itn all night.

followed by this VT clock for CITV. the bit in the top right animated - i think it was one of those "be part of IT" stings.

made me wonder - how on earth did a VT clock fron central in birmingham get routed onto ITN?

i thought itn broadcast the channel from grays inn road with NTL doing the adverts - nothing to do with LNN at all?

could it be some kind of mix up at GMTV? seeing as it looks like ITN took over a minute early to hide the VT clock (according to the clock on ITN)

Tonight's ITV Evening News is on the road just like it was during the war, with Mark Austin in a derilict stadium

Is anyone at ITV going to notice that tonight's ITV Weekend News with Bill Neely is going out in 16:9 stretchyvision?

Is it just me or is the picture really jumpy?

Yeh it was jumpy for me as well. The picture was going all over the place during the ads and continued during the Weekend News aswell. Was it just a Tyne Tees thing or did the rest of the country have it aswell?

See the GMG problems thread, it seems it only effected the North, so this time it wasn't ITV or ITN's fault!

Nicholas Owen was as daft as ever this lunchtime with silly hair related comments and also that the David Beckham's hair report was in Barnet!

and he also said 'we kick off at 12.30'!

Does anybody know How Leyla is getting on with her pregnancy I hope she is back soon I really miss her.
