Oh yes the Major had apparantly appeared on GMTV this morning and ITV News Channel played the interview regularly this morning including the interview in full at 1pm

Now they must have got him in the "computer graphics studio' at ITV News and have shown the interview with Joyce Oharja a few times this late afternoon on the channel

Im becoming a huge fan of Nicholas Owen! He is one of the best newsreaders Ive seen and I never really noticed.

"Well worth watching when we come back <POINT> DONT TOUCH THAT REMOTE"

Remember when he used to point all the time before!

Definately my favourite newsreader! Yesterday, at the end of the programme, he said "I'll be back in this chair...", while pointing at the chair and lifting himself out of it to a degree, "...tommorrow". Absolutely fabulous! Should be on the Evening News in my opinion.

I saw both of these things that Nick did, he is a very good newscaster! His 'comedy' moments are something I look forward to when I watch the Lunchtime News! Very Happy

I partiularly like the bit where he says "Now we go over to ITV Newsrooms around the country, for the news ... where YOU are!"

LOL! I'm almost certainly watching the Lunchtime News later on, Nicholas Owen is fast becoming one of my most favourite presenters of ITN / ITV News. Don't you think he has seemed to.... "come out of his shell" since he started the news at 12:30 or something?

I've noticed that at lunchtime Grampian use their proper studio and have a wide plasma in the studio which cuts back to ITV just before the end. But it's in Widescreen. Not cut or cropped. It appears to be in complete widescreen... but don't worry I'll try not to pee my pants.

How come ITV News isn't widescreen yet though? Or GMTV, or my region's local programmes!

Hopefully this could come with the relaunch. They are a bit behind if they don't relaunch in widescreen I'd say!

Ah well, looks like the old News at When is back. It started at 10.08 last night!

Well I don't think it will go widescreen on relaunch.

AFAIK the studio equipment hasn't been upgraded. Most of the regions still don't have the equipment either so the new opts in the program would be messy when switched half way through the program. Plus I think most of the reports are still on 4:3 cameras (although admittidly this only invloves mostly a change on lens on the newer cameras).

But then again I may be surprised.

They'll probabley do the titles e.t.c. in widescreen and show them 4:3 like the BBC did initially.

PS: Notice the Iraq War has now been knocked off top spot on the headlines.
