Anyone seen the new ITV News promo on ITV1 last night - that one with the globe.

Interesting how it locates it's reporters and presenters around the world, but Trevor McDonald is located in the UK, not Kuwait. Was this a last minute change?

Its not really that new, its been on a week.

Trevor isn't in the thick of the action though, so that might be why he is shown as in London

Anyone see that at 6.30? Just before the generic (short, yet again) ident came up we had what looked like the ident but with the ITV1 logo larger - it was a static picture. On for barely a second...

It probably was that but I didn't see any white flash and it just cut off like it wasn't meant to be shown. Pretty pointless presentation tool considering the ident based on it came up straight after. We need more generic idents

talking about that, did anyone see that plain ITV1 Ident, in the Central region, at the end of Central News last night, it was the animated of the generic background, but the lighter blue one, with very long music (about 20 secs) of the 'generic idents'. Did anyone manage to capture it?

This may already be mentioned here, but did anyone notice a news bulletin today on ITV1 with the ITVNC clock? There was no ticker, just the logo and clock.

He may not be in his normal slot, but they're getting their money's worth out of Owen Thomas overnight on itv. Everytime i look up he's either in the newsroom talking about the UN, then he's reviewing the papers, then he does an hour in the studio while that Anne woman (who said at 6AM the other day, "thanks for watching, Good evening...") obviously plugs herself into the mains for an hour. Then suddenly he's outside Downing Street talking about Blair. He's actually rather good. Must be knackered though.

The News at Nine appear to have dropped the titles completely now, just using the News at Nine strap and Trevor voicing over headlines and clips with no bongs.

Angela Rippon is back tonight after a few days off on the ITV News Channel!

I wonder who she will be taking it in turns with tonight

The odd thing about the ITV News Channel is that the presentation and presenters are better at night than during the day -- compare that to News 24 & Sky News and its generally the opposite.
