Leyla's now on maternity leave. Heather McCarthy hasn't got that long to go.
Unlikely to see the big name presenters on the NC after the war - they're increadibly expensive and ITN doesn't have any money.

So Carol Barnes, Alistair Yates, Angella Rippon are all going to go? I won't be watching ITV NC anymore then.

ITV News at Nine with Trevor McDonald has just been on, It's not often you see Trevor on a Saturday!

I bet when the war is over Trevor will take months off after all this overtime!

Mind you, if are a correspondent in somewhere like Kuwait do you really want to take any days off?

Presumably better just to focus on getting the job done rather than having hours to sit around in hotels having not much else to do than watch other people's coverage of the war.

Trevor seems to be really enjoying himself at the moment presenting these live bulletins. The other night when the sirens went off and he had his gas mask at hand he sounded as if he was quite looking forward to it, although I noticed he said they would hand back to London, rather than having Trevor present it with a Gas Mask on.

Notice that Rachel McTavish and Heather McCarthy have started to appear on the ITV News Channel again

I wonder what's happened to Judy Aslett, and has Sasha Herriman been on lately?

Alistair Stewart seems to have lost his voice at the moment.

He does get rather excited at times doesn't he!! At least he actually looks enthusiastic, compare him with Fiona Bruce and you can see Fiona's there for the money, but Alistair at least seems like he is interested. Even if he can't sit still.

What's everyone's opinions on Felicity Barr?

This afternoon she seemed to be presenting the coverage well and getting into it. I thought she might be thinking "I'd rather be reporting the sport" but obviously not!

She seems nervous usually, like Mary Nightingale- who is also a great newsreader (when she's on!).

Yep - I though Mary would anchor this weekends coverage.

Noticed the Weekend News brand was dropped completely last night - we had the Evening News at 6.30pm, the News at Nine (at 9, surprisingly enough for ITV) and the ITV News at 10.45.
