Very good coverage from ITV News so far- they seem to have far more correspondants on location than the BBC (and don't have that incredible annoying Iraq War dog).
Saw the beginning of ITV News Channel's simulcast with ITV1 last night with Alistair Stewart (is he a good newsreader - from what I saw, no!). Major bodge up at 1am with a mixture of promos/trailer/headlines all running at once.
Media Guardian reports advertisers are pulling out of news programmes, and the main ITV News programmes running without ads is due to advertisers decisions, not the networks. It's estimated to cost the network £7million.
I understand why they pull out, but I'd have thought with higher ratings for current news bulletins, some advertisers would be more eager to advertise than previously.
Just a note - what time will ITV1 be handing over to the ITV News Channel? Or isn't it happening today, I remember earlier on tonight on the ITV News Special / News At Nine, that John Suceht said "extended news bulletins" throughout the night.
