The (old) ITV News Thread

She used to present with ITN didn't she - more recently she presented Look North here at BBC Newcastle and I believe presented on BBC Radio Cumbria.

Did you notice on the ITV Evening News tonight that they have a live graphic with the name of the location of the reporter. Also instead of the usual opening voice it was Mark Austin rehearsing.

Looks like they're having a few problems starting this Iraq Briefing.

I was wondering that myself.

I'm watching this Iraq Breifing on the ITV News Channel, not much action!

Well I thought it was strange that they were still showing trails for ITV1 programmes after 19:00, then we were treated to about two and a half minutes of that breakfiller thing.

They must have been waiting for Katie Derham to bail out. Its and up and running now. Quite good too!

Was that the ITV News Channel version of the BBC News 24 full 90 second countdown!!

I thought it was never going to end!


And also what was the start of the ITV Evening News all about, I suppose they can be let off this though as Mark Austin was in Kuwait and therefore wouldn't have known when to start

And the sound in the Westminster studio is horrible!

Dont think this has been metioned, but according to DigitalSpy.co.uk, GMTV is to be broadcast on a more serious note, and on the ITV NC, for the war, and ITV NC to be broadcast throughout the night on ITV1, so ITV News is on ITV1 around 12 hours every day.

I saw that - most weird. It sounded like the intro was pre-recorded, because it cut straight to Mark.

On the ITV News Channel, what happened to the Markets sting, when did it change to the same music as the Weather sting?!
