From those schedules, it looks indeed like Andrea Catherwood is presenting on Christmas Day, and Chris Rogers is certainly a busy boy over the Christmas period. I must say, i preferred when they changed it around last year, with the likes of Owen Thomas at daytime.

Interesting, ITV NC must be running out of people, he is a good Newsreader So Rahman, but he's the only person Granada News has got to do the shifts over the Christmas period, as I seem to recall that he appears most days over Christmas / New Year while everyone else is off. Does this mean he is a freelance? Or this is just a part of his contract with Granada.

Well looking at Christmas Day...

Andrew Harvey's doing the morning so he can be out of ITN and on his way home by Noon. He's also doing Christmas Eve and Boxing Day mornings too

Rachel McTavish has a worse shift, after a late shift on Christmas Eve shes on on Christmas Day from mid-morning to mid-afternoon

Heather McCarthy seems a bit superfluous to requirements. Only doing an hour at 3pm and then an hour at 8pm, and the same on Boxing Day. She'll be hanging around for 4 hours, she might as well be at home!

Chris Rogers is on the evening shift which is a bad one as well and Rebecca/Jemma Woodman is on overnight as per usual this week

Well times have changed, and hopefully it will be better than the BBC's attempt in the mid-1990's.

Come on, did anyone really believe it was that size, with a big glass sheet with a spinning globe. The desk was horrible, boring background, the only good thing was the theme tunes.

Just heard that the next regional news on ITV will not be until SATURDAY lunchtime - that shows disregard for the regions. Nothing this evening or on Boxing Day.

Oh well further consolidation I suppose.

Or that there's no need or want for it over Christmas. They can't please everyone.

Anyway, back on topic, and i wonder why ITV1 haven't taken the opportunity to use a few of the news channel regulars on the main bulletins. After all, it might make their trip into Grays Inn Road over Christmas worthwhile, considering they must have all of 12 viewers over this period!
