just been watching the lunchtime news with a different camera shot. instead of the zoom at the top showing the whole studio at the beggining it shows the angle of the desk and the big screen. i prefer the zoom.

same shot at start
into break
out of break
end of program has anyone got a shot of it

it looks like the old version they used to have. have they gone back in time Confused:

The Lunchtime News have done this before, but very rarely.

Well Katie Derham IS on the News Channel tonight, hosting a special discussion following on from the Michael Jackson doc at 8 o'clock on ITV1

Whilst I'm all for the NC doing different kinds of stuff, I do wish they wouldn't keep dropping or moving the ITV News Network programme. If they want to build a regular audience for that slot surely they need to stop chopping and changing.

I agree, although they would probably get more viewers for a discussion programme plugged on ITV1.

I would propose that the News Network programme be moved to 7pm after the ITV Evening News. Then there would be no clashes and more stability. Better than sticking it in a no-mans time of 8.30pm. The same would go for the Sports programme.

As a news junkie I'd be less likely to watch it at 7, as it would be up against C4 News and Five News etc.

Just seen a report from Penny Marshall - what happened to her? Did she leave? Has she rejoined ITN? I know she's married to Tim Ewart.

I thought that special programme was excellent, Katie did very well, though I must admit I didn't see it all.

I don't think they should move the News Network to 7pm, as they sometimes have an Evening News Extra type segment where they plug on ITV1 News that the News Channel will be showing extra interviews or will have studio guests discussing one of the top stories.
Perhaps the News Network could go out at 7.30pm? It could also be an idea to repeat at about 12am or something, for viewers who didn't see it and to replace one of the News At Ten repeats.

Penny Marshall also had a report about credit cards at the weekend, where she was in London interviewing some shoppers.

Penny Marshall was living in Africa with Tim Ewart and I guess she wasn't needed much for reports, and now that Tim is back, she is back and she can report on general news stories.

Indeed, there's already too much on at 7pm.

I see John Suchet is doing the late news this week - does anyone know whether that means Trevor's on his 2/3 month sabbatical by now?

Hasn't trev already had his 2 month sabbatical when he came back from kuwait, i remember quite a bit of june, july, and august the late bulletins were either done by John, Felicity, Andrea, Katie, Mark and occassionally Bill Neely

Remember Trevor actually came to work on Sunday so that probably means an extra week off.
