The Pre-Budget speach was held at 12.30pm today. Now did the ITV News Channel carry this live? You'd expect the answer to be no but the answer is yes they did. The ITV Lunchtime News wasn't simulcast today.

This shows that when there's something important happening the ITV1 simulcasts won't get in the way

Its a first. Now we know they can do it, why haven't they done it before?

Who was anchoring, by the way?

EDIT - Just occurred to me, isn't it time this thread was renamed to something like "The ITV NEWS Thread??"

Why are we getting News at Ten back-to-back from midnight tonight?

Romilly Weeks has failed to turn up?!

It's definally quite unusual for News at Ten to be shown at this time, it usually doesn't put in an appearance until 1.05am

Anyone know who/what was on between 11 and midnight?

Why doesn't John Suchet ever do a stint on the NC these days?

He always used to do 8-9 whenever he was presenting News at Ten or the late news, but not any more it seems

Checking the itv.com schedule I see that John Suchet is doing stints on the NC on Sunday and Monday.

Strangely Katie Derham is shown as doing a half-hour stint between 9.30 and 10 on Monday night and nothing else

I doubt Katie will actually do that shift on Monday, as she is not down as doing any ITV1 bulletins that day and I doubt they would pay her to come in to do 30 minutes on the News Channel. It's more likely to be Rachel McTavish.

Sasha Herriman is a guest on LBC 97.3 again this morning with Jon Holmes
