Awesome quote from James Mates in there...
"We're better, we try harder, it's that simple.''

'tis a good promo. Although it is slighty misleading - from that you would expect hundreds of live's and studio interviews per breaking news item. This is not the case on the ITVNC - usually just an aston.

Thanks for uploading that, it's really good music, just a shame they don't use that more often. Though I have to say I've never seen that full trailer on the TV before.
Just off topic, when does News At Ten end? As we know the new 'News at 10.30' starts early next year, but will expect to see the end of it near Christmas or after?

Not sure about that, but they said they needed to make sure they had enough programming to fill the new slots, ie up to 10.30pm. This will no doubt include some dramas to last for 1 hr 30 mins and maybe some new 30 mins shows. I'd have thought they would use the new bulletin as an opportunity to introduce the rebrand of the news. Knowing how long these things seem to take, I don't reckon it will happen before March.

Dunno but it really is not necessary to move it; don't give up and force the BBC to move.
At the moment News at Ten starts at 22:04:40 and ends at around half past with a one minute break. If the starting time could become 22:00 exactly that would give them 28 minutes to do it, and if they went with something like...
22:00 Intro/Headlines
22:01 Main Story
22:06 Main News
22:13 Break
22:14 Business News
22:16 Other News
22:18:30 Sports News
22:20:30 Local News
22:25:30 Headlines
22:26 Feature
22:28:30 Ending
22:29 Weather
...then it would easily rival the BBC. 22:30 won't get anymore viewers than current.

It's not about that, it is pointless BBC and ITV going head to head on news, and virtually everytime they do, ITV lose out. Better to put some other programming out at 10pm (probably a drama from 9.30pm - 10.30pm or something) in an attempt to steal some viewers away from the BBC News, and then be left with a significant number of viewers wanting to see news at 10.30pm.

I wonder who will relaunch the new programme, if it's not Trevor I hope that it would be Nicholas Owen. Before everyone starts saying about Mark Austin getting top job, surely Nick deserves the top job, he has been there a long time.

Yeah, it's pretty misleading getting those ITV1 anchors to say "we're great" etc. when they only do the odd hour on the channel, and even though Andrew appears, he doesn't say a thing - only moving his head in that OTT fashion!

I think the funniest thing about the promo is that it only features one of the presenters (Andrew), who actually works as a regular on the channel. I guess the public won't recognise the people who actually work on the channel as much as the main itv news anchors.

I know what you mean but I'm saying that ITV are kicking themselves out of the position as if they wanted to lose the head to head battle. They are giving up too easily, and News at Ten belongs there.

NAT should be on air towards the end of Feb, all being well. Set is just about ready. New name is well guarded.
