Carol's been doing a shift on the News Channel once or twice most weeks for quite a while now - often at the weekends, but occasionally on weekday evenings.

Indeed. I can see Carol, Andrew, John Suchet and Leyla playing a big part when the channel relaunches with dual presenters next year.

An interesting thing is that none of the ITV News presenters are confirmed in this week's Radio Times, it just says "the latest national and international news" for every bulletin. According to itv.com it's Bill Neely tonight

I have just read that Carol Barnes has been one of the stand-in presenters on BBC Southern Counties Radio's Brighton-based breakfast show this month

Sharon Grey? Not an ITV News presenter anymore. Her "services were no longer required". Wonder where she is now?

Sharon is also a qualified barrister and was Called to the Bar in October 2003 after studying at the Inns of Court School of Law in London.

Why has Katie Derham accepted being relagated to the Weekend News, Evening News occasionally on a Friday, and very rarely the Lunchtime News? She used to present the Weekend News back in the late 1990's.

She was presenting the Evening News 5 days a week solid for about 5/6 months when Mary Nightingale was on maternity leave - I'm sure she doesn't mind the rest!

And for some of that time she was doing a 7 day week, with her weekend radio shows for Classic FM and LBC.

She doesn't do LBC anymore though.

I'd harly call it being relegated. You will find that the Sunday evening bulletin on ITV1 attrcts more viewers than most weekday bulletins.

It has been a plicy for many years that a senior presenter is used on Sunday evenings. Julia Sommerville being the first one which back in the 90's.

just looked on the itv news channel listings for monday and someone has made a couple of mistakes

12:00-12:45 Layla Daybelge and earlier at 10:00-11:00 Layla Daybelge. then later for 14:00-15:00 she is called Leyla Daybelge.

12:00-12:45 Layla Daybelge
12:20-13:00 Nicholas Owen

NOT SEEN A MISTAKE LIKE THIS BEFORE ON THE LISTINGS HAS ANYONE ELSE. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Well yes there's always mistakes, sometimes they list News at Ten when it isn't on, sometimes they say 'Rugby Highlights with Sasha Herriman' when it obviously isn't.

On days when the EPG on Sky hasn't got up to date info and lists 'ITV News' every hour it seems to like thinking that the 5pm slot is with Katie Derham on a daily basis when it never is!

That's interesting - the Digiguide listings also show Katie Derham at 5pm every day.
