Tonights ITV Weekend News was a short 3 minute update with John Suchet. He was sitting on the desk, but the opposite side (the one nearest the screen), which is unusual.

ooh - did you see what was on "the other side" *GASP*? Any Caps?
"ooh - did you see what was on "the other side" *GASP*? Any Caps?"
Not meaning to show my age, or to seem a little bit moronic. Is this the other side, as in channel or other side as in his desk? as i'm fearing i might have been completely blind. Was it that obvious?

The other side of his desk. But I was under the impression that that side would just be a black hole with a load of lights, wires and cameras! I think Tim195 needs to explain it properly.

Sorry, yes, it's just usually they sit on the right hand side, but instead John sat on the left, nothing major, but slightly different.
It does seem to be more frequent they sit on the desk, I don't mind it for the short summaries.
Also, a report by Helen Wright listed her today as Social Affairs Correspondent, but Tom Bradby still had Royal Correspondant on his strap. Is he staying with this title to cover the Prince Charles story, and will then change to UK Editort?

What was behind him then?!
Okay, they usually sit on the desk on the side furthest way from the screen? While this time it was the side nearest the screen and instead of having reports they played out the relevant pictures over their sholulder on the screen.
Nicholas Owen just fronted a special programme on both the ITV News Channel and ITV1 to cover the two minutes silence. It ran from about 10.59-11.04am and was actually longer at both ends than the programme on BBC1.
Nick then stayed on the ITV News Channel and is still on at 11.25 at the moment. Regional News on ITV1 followed after this special programme
Talking of Nicholas Owen, did anyone see him on GMTV'S Newshour today? He was talking to Carla Romano about the cancer he had a few years ago and gave out a warning to people and even a phone number. Nice way to start the morning.
Does anyone know what time next Wednesday's News at When is? If it's at 10pm (unlikely) then it may be the first week for a while where there are four News at Tens.
Also as Leyla, Mary, Heather and Shiulie are all back, it seems Andrea Catherwood has now gone on her Maternity Leave. Can anyone confirm that?
