awwww... Is there anything that says Carol Barnes cannot present on ITV1 news in her contract? I'd love John & Carol on the Evening News!

Presumably, they don't want to put the old ITV1 anchors back there, as it would be seen as a step back, they want Katie Derham and Mary Nightingale to be the new anchorwomen on ITV1 News.
The EPG often makes mistakes with dual anchoring, I usually disregard it if it has two of the same sex supposedly anchoring.
On tonights ITV Weekend News, despite there being a lot of football and the excellent rugby, they had no sports person in the studio, instead Felicity Barr was reading the news and they didn't bring Alex Thomas or Tim Ewart or anyone in the stand by the screen with the sport.

They have Nick Bashford, Jim Spencer and Joanna Something beginning with G to do reports, I think Alex Thomas would be good at reading the sports news, and maybe Simon Ellis-Jones could help him.

I'm sure that at weekends thry could have one of these standing at the big screen with the sports news.
The only one of these I have ever saw is Alex Thomas, who often crops up on days when there are big sports stories, and he also went out to report on Wimbledon, the rest of them I've only heard.
