Katie Derham is on LBC 97.3 this weekend sitting in for Angela Rippon on the arts programme (Saturday 5am-7am and Sunday 1pm-3pm) so she is probably there now recording it this afternoon.

There seems to be a bit of a link between LBC and ITV News today!

Katie Derham, is anchoring 8pm-9pm on the News Channel and also has the Weekend News tonight.
Felicity is on the news channel again anchoring from Heathrow, and it is delightful to see her reporting again, she seems to be enjoying herself!
The little pictures of the planes on the ticker today are nice!

RE: News Changes.
This has became more of an ITV News general discussion, though changes are expected I believe.

There was speculation a long way back in the thread ITV News was going to have a virtual studio introduced in January-April period. A complete rebrand to fall in line with the current ITV1 logo.

During this coverage Felicity & Nicholas are getting on well together, with them both joking with each other and having much friendly banter. It's a shame they never present together.

On who was coming down the steps of concorde:
Nicholas: That looks like our Political Editor Nick Robinson, though I doubt it is. He's probably too busy worrying about Iain Duncan-Smith.
Felicity: I think Iain Duncan-Smith is worrying about Iain Duncan-Smith

And later when Mary Nightingale kissed the BA chairman Nicholas replied, "Well, she certainly doesn't greet me like that everyday!"

Yeah today's Lunchtime News was great, nice to see Felicity. Also it was a very unique experience watching it from the Control Room.

On last night's Weekend News did anyone spot the jealosy when Katie Derham introduced a report from Mary Nightingale who was on board the last ever Concorde flight!!!

Anyway, with ITV programmes running over, I personally think that the new Nightly News programme should be at 10.40pm, running for 35 minutes (inc regional news). The ITV News at Nine would be a five minute update, with programmes then running at 9.05pm and 10.10pm, before the news at 10.40pm.

And on big news days, the News at Nine would become a 15 minute bulletin, with programmes following at 9.15pm and 10.15pm, with a 30-minute Nightly News at 10.45pm.

I think that ITN should keep News at Ten.

The programmes that last an hour (8-9pm, 9-10pm) currently have three commercial breaks. Why not just have two or even one commercial break? Surely by doing this News at Ten would be able to start at Ten on the dot. News at Ten usually starts at about 10.04 nowadays. Surely by cutting out some of these commercial breaks would solve the problem.

How many times? The News at Ten is a dead duck - viewing figures prove this. An it's not ITN decision anyway. The programme was being mucked about and it was time for a fresh start with a new on-time programme that was on at a different time from the BBCs - giving the viewer more choice. People like you are stuck in the past. If you want your news at ten, it's simple, switch to BBC1

Why after 100+ pages of this thread titled, "itv news changes", have there still been no changes to itv news apart from introduction of yellow rather than red!

When do you itv-watchers expect real changes?

No, it's not only been about the colour changes, but there also been a shift in the editorial policy and general presentation of the news. There have also been changes with the ITVNC in terms of presentation, presenters and programmes. So, the title thread is still relevant, although it's become more of a general ITV News thread.

Oh that's just pointless. Almost as bad as "News at When".

Well earlier in the day Felicity Barr had said she was "very, very jelous of Mary".

Today's main Evening News was a bit of a waste of time. It was simply a 5 minute update, and it didn't even start with the headlines, instead they went straight to a shot of Andrea. There wasn't even a sports section with Felicity Barr, which is unusual for a Saturday.
