where is Mary Nightingale this is the second week she has not presented.
Mary has more time off than she is actually on screen! Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if other people at ITN think the same thing, even if she has been unlucky though with zits and the like, and she's hardly the first (or last) ITV news ppresenter to fall pregnant.
ITV News has announced distance learning specialists Computeach will sponsor the channel’s sports bulletins.
The Network Sports shows, Football Extra and half-hourly news bulletins during the night from 1.30am will feature in the deal, which will run until May 2004.
Not more sponser jingles!!!
It says from 1.30am, so does this mean they will be producing a special 30 minute sports show every night? I wonder if it will be like Football Extra and simply voiceovers, or hav a studio and a presenter?
I just hope they don't sponser the regular 30 minute updates throughout the day, as i can't stand any more jingles!!
LOL, that was funny with Mark Webster, why do they send reporters out LIVE from a packed pub ? He is better suited to reporting though.
Oh and why are the Rugby Highlights with Heather McCarthy ? What does she know about Rugby ?

I doubt the highlights will be with Heather McCarthy, as the other evening it said 'With Chris Rogers', however it was the usual programme with Angus Scott and the team.
I was unsure as to who Lynda Bryans was, is she regional or a freelancer? I noticed she had a plastic beaker on the desk with she was doing an interview.
I didn't see Mark Webster on the news, though I have been watching Gary Cotterill's live reports throughout the day and he's been shouting a lot!!
I assume that John Draper was the guy who did the overnights last night?
Don't get me wrong he isn't a bad newsreader, but whenever he reads something doesn't he seems to move about, especially whenever any big or major words are mentioned, found this quite odd when watching the News Summary at 2.05am this morning.
How many proper overnight readers are there now other than Owen Thomas? As he is there most nights, but is it just a freelance slot or a slot for those who pick the short straw?

Yes I've just noticed that, he's bobbing about like I don't know what.
Besides Owen Thomas there isn't any other proper overnight newsreaders. It's Owen for 7 nights, someone else for 7 nights every fortnight. John Draper is better than Mark Webster.
By the way, don't you think it would be better if we had a voiceover announcing the presenter's name at the top of the hour on the ITV News Channel, just like they do on ITV1 bulletins?
0700 - 0800 John Draper
0800 - 1000 Steve Scott
1000 - 1200 Jonathan Morrell
1200 - 1230 Steve Scott
1230 - 1315 Rachel McTavish
1315 - 1500 Jonathan Morrell
1500 - 1800 Rachel McTavish
Has Jonathan Morell been on ? Just switched on at 11:00 and it's Steve Scott.
I said earlier in the thread that I dislike John Draper due to the moving about, he goes up and down and left to right and it really irritates me!
Johnathan Morell was on this morning, and presumably will be on later. He was pretty good, better than some of the people they stick on the channel.
They should really sort out the graphic inconsistancies on the Morning News, yesterday on the big screen as they started the programme, it was the blue and yellow globe spining, the day before it was the blue/yellow globe static, and then today it was the old style (red/blue) globe.
