YES! There is a new ITV News Channel Rugby World Cup sting in the same style as the 'Breaking news for Britian' and Weather stings.
The actual look of the ITV NC is now coming together and they must surely be making some money with all these short sponsor stings everywhere!
Also at 21:00 each night there will be highlights of the days action from RWC and if a quiet news night full-match replays will be shown a bit later at night!
Do ITV have any Correspondants in Australia covering the RWC? Perhaps Tim Ewart will head over there once the Turkey game has been played?
Well they have got Tim Ewart and Philip Reay-Smith in Istanbul, so surely one could come out soon? Perhaps a general reporter (Mark Webster, Romilly Weeks, Dan Rivers etc) will cover it. Though they may just use pictures and voice them over by a freelancer at ITN, like they do with many ITV NC reports. This happened with a report earlier about the opening ceramony, which was voiced over by Alex Thomas.
Perhaps Gabby Logan will report on it?
Shame Felicity is not sports editor any more! She could have been out there.
I hope they do send someone out, as they are putting a lot of effort into the Rugby on the News Channel, including the deicated rugby segment, so I hopw a good, permanent reporter is sent out to cover it.

During the 9pm highlights programme they have removed the logo and ticker, instead having a logo in the top right hand corner.
On Sunday the News Channel are repeating England's match nad Nick Clarke will be presenting on Sunday.
Felicity Barr has all the main ITV1 bulletins on Saturday, whilst James Mates has all the main bulletins on Sunday.

I guess it's just development really, when it came on 1955 it was just called Independent Televsion News, then came News At Ten, but then we had News At One, ITN at 545, which made sense, but then I assume with the introduction of Channel 4 I guess it must have been more important to stress the ITN brand, then there were programmes like News At 12:30, whent the ITN brand was on and off screen really. But then we had Lunchtime News, Early Evening News which always said from ITN.
The TVS Television thing was a joke, it looked stupid, it should have stayed as TVS or even TVS Network would have made more sense.

Also because probably of Felicity's late night tonight, Nicholas Owen did the 12:55 summary today!
I wonder why they bought Nicholas in for only a few minutes? Surely a News Channel presenter or reporter could have done it? Especially since James Mates has got Monday's Lunchtime News.
I think that Alex Thomas is underused. He really knows his stuff when he's in the newsroom or the studio talking and yet is is rarely at the centre of the action nor is he listed as a correspondant on the website.
I think that they should put some of the older presenters back on ITV1 such as Carol Barnes, who presents on the NC.
But wouln't that be a step backwards? As they have already said that the new faces of ITV News are people like Katie Derham and Mark Austin.
It also seems that ITV1 News have too many presenters sometimes.
I'd like to see Andrea Catherwood get a more high profile anchoring job, as I think she is much better than Mary Nightinglale but I also think Katie Derham is better than Mary Nightingale.
