Today the News Channel is showing Operation Iraq Freedom - "a 90-minute compilation of the best of ITV News coverage in Iraq"

3pm; 7pm and 10.30pm

Also, I see that Heather McCarthy is back tomorrow.

PLEASE DON'T POST IN ALL CAPS

In fact, Heather is back today.

So is anyone else watching War on Saddam: 6 Months On?

Funny time to show a 90 minute documentary - on a busy weekday afternoon

The other day during Breaking the Silence they removed the clock and logo. I think it looks better, as on the Tonight repeats the logo obscures part of the name strap.
Also, as part of ITV NC's 6 months on programming, Colonal Bob Stewart is back in the studio again.

I'm not sure if this will be shown on The ITN News Channel but watching a report regarding the internet paedophile on the ITN News At Ten, they decided to use a boy using an Amiga 500 in a brief few seconds of their report. I know that broadcasters would recycle their material but going back 13 years!!!...

Why the insistence on using the name ITN?!

Good point! You know what, I never clicked I wrote ITN on both occasions. It proves what a brand image can do on a mind. I would always associate the news with ITN rather than ITV in the title. Also, it might be due to the fact that I have watched a lot of archive ITN material today including a 12 year old clip of TV Forum legend Nick Owen!

ITN sounds better to me.

You could see what their thoughts were though can't you. Channel 4 News wasn't called ITN News on 4 was it. It was strange that out of the three channels that take news from ITN, only ITV needed to use the ITN name.

I agree. When I was younger, I used to be puzzled over why ITN News was on Carlton/LWT! After all, Channel 4 have CH4 News as do five, and don't forget that ITN started off as an ITV Network organisation

But ITN Stands for Independant Television News

Why would you call a programme ITN News ? The word News is repeated twice!

I think ITV HAD to rebrand their news as ITV due to ITN providing similar services for Channel 4 and five!

PS ITV News Channel unearthed the ITV News Locator again yesterday!

Considering the ITN News Channel ended one year ago, a graphic this morning ended with the caption: rugby highlights here on the ITN News Channel.
They're taking their rugby news seriously aren't they, they are using the Travelex sponser ad beofre reporting on it and they have lots of nice reports and interviews.
