Yes, I remember that well - the 6 o'clock news had about 10 different presenters on rotation. And don't forget the 1 o'clock news which was presented by John Tusa or Edward Stourton - 2 of the most austere people on the planet! The 9 o'clock news was the only one they got right, with Michael Buerk and Peter Sissons - and it had a very nice 'dark' look back then too.

on the caption at the end of every ITV news bulletin promoting the itv news channel there is usually a channel number for the channel on satellite, cable and freeview
BUT
now it states channel number for satellite and cable but just states and freeview no specific channel number anymore - i wonder why that is?
