Can't say I'll miss it one bit. God awful show with two awful presenters (Jeff and Jenny). What's going to replace it?

My single memory of this programme was when they interviewed a member of the public in the studio about how she had recently dyed her hair through entirely ordinary and unspectacular circumstances.

It was so awful.

You may be joking, but you never know. Family Affairs is just the type of show they could use to attract people to other shows that 5 has. A soap can be built up as the main attraction of the schedule, and then can be used to get people to watch the other shows the channel has. Exactly what Channel 4 did with Brookside.

The problem is that, even though the writing was not that good and the actors weren't very believable, it still cost a lot to make.

They should accommodate OKTV's axe by shuffling the schedule around slightly.

17:00 Five News at 5
18:00 Neighbours
18:30 A new drama/Big Brother supplement show when it is airing
19:00 Home and Away

The two Aussie soaps can and do serve that purpose. In fact they were a major selling point when the channel now called 5* rebranded from Five Life to Fiver.

That's true, forgot about them. C5 didn't have them when they launched.

Even I disagree to that, but a slight reshuffle of the daytime is required with the introduction of gameshows (without viewers participation)....

I really can't see them reviving 100%, and ITV own the rights to most of the others you mentioned. Going for Gold is owned by Fremantle (it was made by Grundy), and thus would've been more likely to get a Channel 5 series before RTL sold the channel.
