Does Liverpool have a separate relay for the whole city then?... how big an area does Storeton cover?

I may be very wrong, but I thought that the Storeton relay covered the City of Liverpool and even further out into Sefton and Knowsley, as well as Wirral except for West Kirby. When there was discussion about the fifth channel being a city based channel, the proposal was that transmissions from Storeton would be for a Liverpool based service.

As for West Kirby - well I think a West Kirby opt of either programme would be fantastic...

You misunderstood my posting (perhaps deliberately) -- I was indicating that West Kirby would need to carry the same Liverpool opt out material as Storeton. And do not forget that the West Kirby repeater also covers Caldy, so you would have to have some golf course stories as well.

Does anybody know if in fact the West Kirby repeater gets its feed from Winter Hill direct, or from Storeton? And once analog is switched off, West Kirby will go dead, leaving only Storeton.

And geographically speaking, the site of the repeater is Storeton Woods, between Rest Hill Road and Red Hill Road, being neither in Storeton Village (very small) nor Little Storeton (tiny).

Might as well make the thread to good use.....

Anyway, I must say I am liking NWT's Demoliton thing, basically it's the opposite version of Restoration, it's something I have been watching and to be honest I feel like giving them a call as I have several nominations. Though I have to say that NWT covered very little of the United/Arsenal fight, when it was pratically top story on GR and the ITV Evening News.

GR is getting better, I saw the interview with the Pantomine actors, and it felt like they were acting really, I did kinda feel sorry for Tony Morris, even more funnier when someone's mobile went off too. Cronie's story about the old people on the Big Dipper was quite good. Whoever said about Granada's presenters whispering is right, all except for Peter Berry who always shouts, Thank God that So Rahman did the 11.00 today and not him, but Peter Berry needs to tone down slightly.

The problem for NWT is it is supposed to represent the North West but it is Manchester based and has more of a Greater Manchester focus rather than a North West focus.

While it's true that there are stories outside Greater Manchester e.g. in Cumbria it has a Greater Manchester feel about it.

Maybe sharing the news with a Liverpool newsroom or using more local regional reporters i.e. not re-cycling Dave Guest & Tony Morris all the time, would give the show a more North Westerly focus.

Perhaps too we could see more of Allan Beswick crusading on important North West issues.

Having said that I've really enjoyed the reports of Dave Guest & Tony Morris as well as the work of Gordon Burns and Dianne Oxberry.

The GMTV bulletins and the 11.00 are supposed to be done by Peter Berry (AKA The guy who shouts) but it never stays fixed it always changes somehow, for the 12.45pm and 3.00pm it's either Lucy or Tony from the main studio, and for the late ones again it can depend; the people who do these bulletins are Peter Berry, So Rahman, Anna Thomas, Ann O Connor, Mike Hall, Alistair Mann or Michelle May.

Yup Noticed this too, like Tai Chi this ident was baddly cropped, though it makes a nice change, I don't think it is right before NWT. Another slight cock-up at 7.30pm before Inside Out, basically it was the case of BBC Manchester opting out a couple of seconds late, as we had about 2 seconds of Festival then straight into NW Acrobats, with a different announcer for once. Plus Jez Edwards has been a good replacement for Tony Morris on Inside Out, from kids TV to a light News programme is a big step.

Compared to Look East, Midlands Today and South Today, North West Tonight looks crap. I wouldn't mind seeing a no-desk look to NWT, it needs a kick up the arse in my opinion. Plus they need new equipment as NWT looks terrible on digital at times.

Reuben, going around all the regional threads and posting the same bloody comment is not going to endear you to anyone. Give it a rest, mate.
