I think you need to replace one of your 'boxes' with a 118888 character aswell!

I was both thrilled and shocked to see the marvellous 11 88 88 advertisement on at the cinema. It was wicked to see it on the big screen, but imagine my shock to discover the line "Hold the phone sister" had been replaced with "Hold the phone citizen". Didn't ring true at all. Shocked

The 118 118 website is pretty good but little known:

Check out their version of the Honda ad!!

It seems that they've ditched the "Hold the phone sister" ads. There are new ads featuring 11, 88 & 88 dancing on a stage.

They've got more of a 118-118 feel about them.

Would anyone care to explain the difference in the 118-118 and 118-888 numbers? Since the adverts came on - I haven't understood them. Duh! Laughing

Also, how are people meant to remember all of those numbers for different companies. Does an automatic voice tell you when you dial 118-118 or do you ask? Confused

All of the new numbers are run by different companies. I think it was because BT had a monopoly on directory enquiries. Also, they all charge different prices. 118888 is the cheapest.

Is it true that NTL & Telewest have blocked all of the new numbers except 118-118?
