I feel that I MUST bring to the attention of the anoraks here (especially phil) the fabulousness of the 118888 advert. Now I suppose you're wondering "why hasn't this fool put it in the lounge"? Well it's because it's the presentation of it, or rather...

It's not WHAT he says, it's HOW HE SAYS IT!

I prefer the 118 118 ads myself, with the runners Wink

Oh yes, I like to think that, in my hour of need, I can shout out "SAVE ME 11-88-88" and those cartoon number hunks will save me.

HOLD THE PHONE, SISTER!

11 88 88 has to have had the most succesful marketing campaign thanks to the fabulous cheesy jingle and those animated numbers. I will always now remember that number.

Actually was reading that 11 88 88 in a Which ? survey came out as the cheapest as well (less than half of BT 192). However, one word of caution with these 118 numbers, DO NOT let them connect you, apparently you are still paying them for the duration of the call if you do that.

Not in this thread I'm not -- it's about 11 88 88.. Which is surely an excellent example of an ad that irritated me a lot when it started, but has cleverly turned itself around to its advantage.
